The spring chill lingers, and a gentle breeze sweeps through; yet the vibrant blossoms of Jiangnan arrive as promised. On March 16, at the invitation of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Professor Cai Yuhua, former director of the Research Office at Donghua University, along with his delegation, conducted a special research mission on specialized textile fabrics and apparel. Accompanied by Chen Haida, secretary-general of the Shanghai Labor Protective Equipment Industry Association, they visited Shanghai Jiabailitong Technology Co., Ltd. Chairman Ke Xin briefed the researchers on the company’s efforts in the development, production, and intelligent innovation of specialized protective clothing, engaging in an informative exchange. Also present were Professors Cai Zaisheng and Zhou Zhe, together with a graduate student, all from the State Key Laboratory of Fiber Materials at Donghua University. The laboratory spearheads research and technological breakthroughs in advanced textile materials for high‑tech applications, and under the leadership of Professor Cai Zaisheng, it has positioned itself at the forefront of numerous fields worldwide.

Professor Cai Yuhua stated that the municipal government currently places great emphasis on research and development as well as industrialization in the high-end segments of Shanghai’s specialized textile sector, aiming to lead the nation and reach the global stage, thereby contributing to Shanghai’s transformation into a center of advanced manufacturing. Based on thorough investigations of representative enterprises in the industry, he has urged the government to introduce supportive policies to foster the sector’s healthy growth. Leaders and experts from Donghua University visited our company’s sample showroom, laboratories, production workshops, and other facilities, engaging in in-depth discussions on material innovation, industrial planning, and corporate development. They highly commended Jiabailitong for its achievements in cross‑industry integration, interconnected value creation, product innovation, proprietary technologies, and brand building. Noting that Jiabailitong serves as both a graduate internship base for Donghua University and a leading exemplar in the industry, the university pledged robust support across multiple fronts, including technological R&D, patent protection, government project approvals, and the cultivation of future high‑caliber talent. The leaders and experts encouraged Jiabailitong to seize opportunities, pursue continuous innovation, and, while strengthening itself, also drive progress throughout the industry.
